I met Paula and her husband Sam a few years ago when I photographed her first child Oliver. He was already 7 weeks old but they were happy to still have newborn style pictures of him. I was thrilled when Paula called me a few months ago to tell me that she was pregnant with their second child and wanted to book in for a newborn session.
When she told me her due date I was sad that I was going to miss being able to photograph their second child. She was due so close to me going home to visit my family in the States. Paula said that she was fine if the baby was late and we couldn’t photograph them until I came back. I am so happy to report that the baby did make it on time before I left but that is a different story.
My newborn pictures and one pregnancy picture are decorating the walls of the 3D/4D scan office of Window to the Womb in Doncaster. I am constantly trying to improve my photography by taking training classes. I take about three classes every year. Mainly newborn as that is were I specialise.
It’s All About Training
This year I decided to change my focus to pregnancy training as I am happy with my newborn photography……for now.
Most mums-to-be first see my work when they are pregnant. I want to not only be able to capture beautiful pictures of their new babies but also that magical time in their lives when they are pregnant.
So I took a few pregnancy training classes and now I needed a model to put into practice what I had learned.
Beautiful Paula instantly came into my mind with her lovely dark hair. I was so excited when she had said yes.
The picture of Paula in the maroon dresses with the material billowing around, showing her beautiful bump with this little person was so amazing that it made Paula and I cry.
Oh and we loved the white lace coat with the “Twinkle twinkle”
The “Twinkle twinkle” one is so pure looking. Perfect for the nursery with mum looking at her bump. Waiting for her baby to be in her arms.
Thank you Paula
