Baby Ivy – 4 Weeks Old
It was the first time I had met with Melissa and Scott. It was at this first meeting that I photographed their fundraiser. “Rosa’s Room Memory Walk for Tommy’s”. This photo session was in honour of their daughters first birthday, who was stillborn. Tommy’s is a charity funding research into the cause of miscarriages, stillbirth and premature birth. At the time of the event, Melissa & Scott were pregnant with their second daughter and booked their newborn session with me.
It’s such a happy yet stressful time being pregnant with a child after losing a baby. You can never truly relax as you are constantly worried that it could happen again.
Little Ivy was born 5 1/2 weeks early. Thank goodness she was perfect. A precautionary measure meant Ivy had to stay in the hospital for four weeks to allow her to gain weight.
Mum & Dad were content.
Ivy came to her newborn session with her mum and dad. Mum & Dad had a glow of contentedness about them. They sat, a couple of feet away, watching and enjoying the whole experience of their daughter whilst being photographed by me.

Sleeping Beauty
Ivy slept happily throughout her session. As Scott said above, I was able to change her position and outfits without disturbing her peaceful sleep. She even gave me a slight smile.
It is nice to include parents having family pictures taken. This family of two have now grown into a beautiful family of three.
